Stăpînul Inelelor
(Romanian)

The difference between stăpânul in the newer Romanian editions and stăpînul in the older Romanian editions is the result of a minor spelling reform.  They mean the same thing.

This is the only non-English edition of LOTR that I have seen that uses the Barbara Remington paintings that were on the 1965 American Ballantine edition.  This was the edition that was extremely common in the late '60s and early '70s in the United States and was the edition that spawned the American love of LOTR.  Ms. Remington painted the covers before she had read the books.
