Hobbitvs Ille (Latin [H]), purchased on-line from Amazon in 2018 (hardback)
Tolkien, J. R. R., Hobbitvs Ille, aut illuc atque rursus retrorsum, trans. by Mark Walker (HarperCollins Publishers, 2012). ISBN: 978-0-00-744521-9
This was the first edition of Hobbit that I bought without there being a translation of LOTR in the same language. I bought it because, well, Latin. It looks lovingly from my Tolkien bookshelves across the room to its distant cousin on another shelf, Cattus Petasatus.
There was a translation of LOTR into Latin, Anulorum Erus, by Richard Sturch printed in 2014. Because of the strict control that the Tolkien Estate maintains over translation rights, only 30 copies were printed under a heavily restricted, non-commercial agreement and privately distributed to friends and family.
